Brad Cummins
Brad Cummins is the founder of Insurance Geek and operates at Top of the Table–level production by MDRT industry benchmarks, reflecting enterprise-scale life insurance premium across a multi-carrier platform. Licensed since 2004 and operating nationwide across all 50 U.S. states, Brad brings more than 21 years of real-world experience structuring advanced life and Indexed Universal Life (IUL) strategies for clients ranging from modest monthly contributors to high-income earners funding six figures annually—grounded in issued, carrier-verified production, not theory. Brad founded Insurance Geek after recognizing that most consumers either worked with captive agents limited to a single carrier or landed on lead-generation sites that sold their information to multiple agents. Insurance Geek was built to operate differently, providing access to 30+ A-rated carriers and underwriting-driven guidance designed for real-world decision-making rather than marketing illustrations. Over the course of his career, Brad has structured thousands of life insurance policies and retirement-focused strategies, working directly with carrier underwriting teams and case managers nationwide. His experience spans advanced life insurance design, IUL policy structuring, annuities, and long-term planning strategies informed by actual policy issuance and real underwriting outcomes. Before focusing on life and retirement planning, Brad built a scratch Farmers Insurance agency to a million-dollar book of business and sold it—his first six years in the industry. In addition to life and retirement planning, Brad has experience across Property & Casualty insurance lines, supporting integrated coverage strategies for clients nationwide. Brad completed his undergraduate education at The Ohio State University and has pursued ongoing professional education through The American College of Financial Services, reinforcing a commitment to continued learning alongside hands-on insurance practice. He also serves as the primary author and editorial lead for Insurance Geek's educational content, ensuring articles reflect real policy mechanics, carrier guidelines, and regulatory considerations.

His experience spans multiple national carriers and product types, giving him practical insight into underwriting rules, policy mechanics, and real-world case outcomes. At Insurance Geek, Ryan's role is focused on accuracy, compliance, and clarity.
